Dreams do come true

There are days when we struggle, when goal seems far off, when the world is against you; those are the days when few of us talk to ourselves and raise our hands in dismay. Well, not anymore because group of few immortals have shown a billion people way to success, glory and brilliance. They have shown us that self belief can do wonders when taken in the right spirit with the fervor of fire. It has shown us the power of dream even if it takes a legend like Sachin Tendulkar to achieve it in 22 long years! Cricket is more than a mere sport in India. It is a medium which binds billion of people together with one common dream and when we taste success then a sea of joy touches our hearts; only in this case, this is the success of a billion people. The moment of incredible Indian victory has been engraved in our hearts and minds forever. It seems like the champions theme is still playing in my mind after twelve long hours and I hope it plays forever because this victory is symbolic of a ...

Insomnia

As a passionate cricket fan, very rarely I have felt insomnia and the power cricket has in my mind as I did yesterday. After a good dinner, I decided to sleep early to gear myself for the big day. Although, it wasn’t to be; In the space of seven hours, I envisioned Indian team in multiple catch 22 situations in different phases of my life with lesser hair day by day. As I write down this note, it sounds hilarious but I had a torrid time digging the Indian team out of the hole in all the matches. Needless to say that every time India won! Such is the power of cricket in India and the magnanimity of occasion that it literally brings the whole nation together with one dream, one passion and one prayer; An Indian victory. People from all walks of life have only one talking point. Everyone burn the midnight oil to free themselves for such occasions. I am sure that there are thousand of cricket freaks like me in a similar situation. Although I am vouching for an Indian win, I know it is ...

Hope

Remember the days which were shallow, When you were rumbling outside and within, Standing near the horizon, Hoping for a new meaning beyond the usual. When dreams were not alive, And passion became mundane, When memory was stuck close to old, And distance was precious. And the days when you rose like shining amber, Even if there was madness within hopes alive, You stuck it out and got back, In your thoughts and beyond. Only because you knew who you were, And you had a desire to sway away from yesterday, With a new hope and new dreams, Beyond the imagery, beyond words.

Social Justice vs Development

For a long time in Indian politics both Social Justice and Development has been a paradox. The state of utopia is always desired but is not achieved because of the lack of willingness of our political leadership to go the extra mile. Especially in the backward states, Social Justice becomes a more important election issue than Development which is most often misused and misconstrued by caste politics. One of the most obvious examples which come to mind is Bihar. The emergence of Laloo Yadav was largely because he was seen as the leader of downtrodden and to his credit he did manage to bring in social justice in Bihar during his stint as chief minister. But people eventually got fed up as people do want to be free from oppression but it has to be substantiated by material benefits which can be only brought in by development. The core issue of development led to the emergence of Nitish Kumar touted by the media as the Renaissance man. Nitish Kumar has brought in a new hope and new era i...

Moments

Moments pass by touching our lives Sometimes shallow, sometimes deep Saying a thousand words Sometimes inept, Sometimes afar and sometimes profound Blinking new signs and swirling directions Whispering in my ears to rise up With a new fervor and a new prayer Into the sky, with a new reason Only if I knew that it would never end Even if I was far behind The passion would get us back inside Beyond the passage of time With winds flowing in opposite direction And the heart lost in an unknown destination Whispering again to rise up Into the sunshine and then rest in peace

The last stop

Sometimes I won, sometimes I lost, Sometimes I cried, sometimes I laughed, And sometimes I looked back, Thinking, if this was the last stop? Down the streets I saw you, Post the conversation, deep in your eyes, I saw in you my reflection, Thinking again, if this was the last stop? Wiping the old memories, I stood up again, With the same curiosity, I looked up again, Vowing for a new lyrics, And clinching for a new color to some old thoughts! The journey stripped off some old notions, Teaching every stop in life has a new meaning, And every stop envisions a new destination, Enlightening nothing can be engraved as the last stop.

When i close my eyes

-When I close my eyes- I see darkness around, desperate for the silver lines- I open my eyes again, only to realize the same twinge. -When I close my eyes- I also see hope, hope of love and togetherness, Only to realize it’s be wilderness. Thoughts rejuvenate, And then gets stuck between old times. -When I close my eyes- I sometimes feel like a warrior, Getting ready for a new challenge, Brushing aside my old scar, Fighting a lone battle for a new start. -But then you come back, With the same old enigma You whisper in my ears and then stare, only to rekindle the same wish and the same prayer.
