Hope

Remember the days which were shallow, When you were rumbling outside and within, Standing near the horizon, Hoping for a new meaning beyond the usual. When dreams were not alive, And passion became mundane, When memory was stuck close to old, And distance was precious. And the days when you rose like shining amber, Even if there was madness within hopes alive, You stuck it out and got back, In your thoughts and beyond. Only because you knew who you were, And you had a desire to sway away from yesterday, With a new hope and new dreams, Beyond the imagery, beyond words.

Social Justice vs Development

For a long time in Indian politics both Social Justice and Development has been a paradox. The state of utopia is always desired but is not achieved because of the lack of willingness of our political leadership to go the extra mile. Especially in the backward states, Social Justice becomes a more important election issue than Development which is most often misused and misconstrued by caste politics. One of the most obvious examples which come to mind is Bihar. The emergence of Laloo Yadav was largely because he was seen as the leader of downtrodden and to his credit he did manage to bring in social justice in Bihar during his stint as chief minister. But people eventually got fed up as people do want to be free from oppression but it has to be substantiated by material benefits which can be only brought in by development. The core issue of development led to the emergence of Nitish Kumar touted by the media as the Renaissance man. Nitish Kumar has brought in a new hope and new era i...

Moments

Moments pass by touching our lives Sometimes shallow, sometimes deep Saying a thousand words Sometimes inept, Sometimes afar and sometimes profound Blinking new signs and swirling directions Whispering in my ears to rise up With a new fervor and a new prayer Into the sky, with a new reason Only if I knew that it would never end Even if I was far behind The passion would get us back inside Beyond the passage of time With winds flowing in opposite direction And the heart lost in an unknown destination Whispering again to rise up Into the sunshine and then rest in peace

The last stop

Sometimes I won, sometimes I lost, Sometimes I cried, sometimes I laughed, And sometimes I looked back, Thinking, if this was the last stop? Down the streets I saw you, Post the conversation, deep in your eyes, I saw in you my reflection, Thinking again, if this was the last stop? Wiping the old memories, I stood up again, With the same curiosity, I looked up again, Vowing for a new lyrics, And clinching for a new color to some old thoughts! The journey stripped off some old notions, Teaching every stop in life has a new meaning, And every stop envisions a new destination, Enlightening nothing can be engraved as the last stop.

When i close my eyes

-When I close my eyes- I see darkness around, desperate for the silver lines- I open my eyes again, only to realize the same twinge. -When I close my eyes- I also see hope, hope of love and togetherness, Only to realize it’s be wilderness. Thoughts rejuvenate, And then gets stuck between old times. -When I close my eyes- I sometimes feel like a warrior, Getting ready for a new challenge, Brushing aside my old scar, Fighting a lone battle for a new start. -But then you come back, With the same old enigma You whisper in my ears and then stare, only to rekindle the same wish and the same prayer.

What a day...

Y ou know some days become automatically amusing without any reason. Suddenly a splash of happiness breezes across you and gives a new zing in life. Today has been one of those days and I thought to bring it out through my friend, words! So like any Saturday I woke up really late. Had a sumptuous breakfast in Aloo Paratha and then started watching one of my favorite movies, Wake up Sid. Though I am already an MBA and have a good job, I can still relate to this movie as I am still not doing what I actually should be doing. To the outside world I might be all settled but in my mind I am not. The desire to do something extraordinary in the field of writing always splashes across my mind and heart. Unfortunately I have still not mustered courage to go all out for it. I guess we still have a lot of boundaries in our society of which I am a part of and I have made those boundaries too in my mind. I don’t know whether being controlled and being calculative in life actually helps but that is...

Let’s come together-Let’s look beyond

Atrocities, Rape, Murder, Terrorist attacks are no more a rarity. Scholars have spoken, introspection have been done before, mirrors have been broken but all in waste. Where are we going wrong?. Why is there no consensus in building right things and why do we desperately build upon bad things? Who will lead the sea of change? Why not me, why not you? Let’s start now. Let’s come together-Let’s look beyond. World has seen so many sporadic changes culturally, economically, and educationally. The literacy level has gone up, economy has improved, cross cultural interactions have increased but between all this our approach towards life has gone narrow and it is sad to see that it is sliding down even further. Materialism is more important and the ability to lie and escape without getting caught probably has more weightage in gauging a personality . Innocent people are killed in endless bomb blasts, racism is on a rise both inside and outside the country and death of human life is measure...
